1. Announcement for the Pre-AGU GEM Workshop

This year, the traditional GEM Mini-Workshop will be held in San Francisco
on December 7, 1997, the day before the start of the Fall AGU Meeting.
There will be two parallel sessions, held from 1:00-4:00 pm:

The newly organized Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Coupling Working Group will
hold an initial planning meeting to discuss priorities among topics for the
Working Group to address and to plan the agenda for the 1998 GEM Workshop.

The GGCM Campaign will hold a planning session.  The tentative agenda includes:
*  Concept Study reports (J.Lyon, A.Ronn, T.Hill/F.Toffoletto) (20 min. each)
*  Brief presentations by people who submitted GGCM Phase I proposals
*  Airing of philosophical issues
*  General discussion

list.

The GGCM Steering Committee will meet immediately after the GGCM Planning
Session.  The GEM Steering Committee will meet at 7 pm.
