------------------------------------------------- 2. SPECIAL AGU SESSION AT 1995 SPRING AGU MEETING ------------------------------------------------- From: Dick Mewaldt (dick@ivaldi.srl.caltech.edu) To: Solar/Heliospheric Community From Dick Mewaldt At the Spring AGU meeting there will be a special session entitled "Anomalous Cosmic Rays from 1 AU to the Boundary of the Heliosphere" that will deal with recent experimental and advances in this fast breaking area. Included will be new results from Voyager, Ulysses, SAMPEX, Wind, and other spacecraft on topics that include: interstellar neutrals, pickup ions, acceleration in the interplanetary medium and at the termination shock, 3-D intensity gradients in the heliosphere, and trapped anomalous cosmic rays in the magnetosphere. The intention is to bring together in 1 or 2 sessions the wide range of new observations that are now filling in the details of how these particles originate, get accelerated, and manifest themselves throughout the heliosphere over the course of the solar cycle. In order to gauge the interest in this session I am asking those who may be interested in submitting contributed papers to send me email at dick@citsrl.srl.caltech.edu. There will, of course, also be a selection of invited papers. The level of interest will be used to judge the number of sessions required.
