The SMALL project, a 24-station magnetometer array at low latitudes across China, is a collaborative venture between the IGPP/UCLA and Institute of Geophysics/China Seismological Bureau. The University of California and NASA funded the developement of the instrument. The NSF funded the fabrication of the magnetometers at UCLA. The Chinese side operates the array.
