Welcome to the website for UCLA's fluxgate magnetometer being built for the New Millennium Program Space Technology 5 (ST5) mission.
The ST5 mission is part of NASA's New Millennium Program, managed by the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The program seeks to develop new technology for space research. Under the management of NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, ST5 will test cutting edge technology with the aquisition of research grade data from new nano-satellite vehicles. UCLA was selected by NASA to build a simple, accurate, reliable, low-noise, low-mass and low-cost fluxgate magnetometer for deployment on the three ST5 spacecrafts. UCLA's contribution to ST5 will be under the direction of Dr. Robert J. Strangeway. |
