Software Description
- The program "XMAPSTEV" is designed to assist in the evaluation of the CASSINI
tours judged relative to the objectives of the MAPS working group. The program uses
SPICE kernels and a popup menu allows the selection of the tour to be evaluated
from a list of available missions.
- The program presently has modules to show the coverage of the magnetosphere
in the equatorial plane; The close in longitude and latitude coverage; and plots
of the orbit in various projections.
- The Cassini tour data is now stored in the
UCLA/IGPP flat file format.
So if you have downloaded the old version of the data you will need to replace
it with the newer data set. This format is a binary data format and it allows
"XMAPSTEV" to plot much faster then before and takes up less disk space.
