Physical problem

The shock tube problem is the study of the propagation of shock waves in a one-dimensional tube. We assume a neutral gas exists in the tube. As there are no charged particles, it is unnecessary for us to consider the magnetic field and electric field. Thus gas dynamics, instead of complete magnetohydrodynamics, is enough for the description of the motion of the system.
