ANNOUNCEMENT FOR NSF/GEM/CEDAR DECEMBER 10 PRE-AGU MINI-WORKSHOP

Dear GEM Community and Interested Parties,

I am pleased to announce that the annual GEM mini-workshop will be held
on Sunday, 10 December 1995 in San Fransisco, CA.  I have arranged for us
to meet at the Moscone Center rather than at a nearby hotel as in the past.
The GEM mini-workshop will conclude as the collocated AGU icebreaker
commences, thus facilitating our attendance.

Attached please find the final meeting outline and room details.  Note
that only a selection of all possible working groups within both campaigns
have chosen to meet. Each of the relevant working group chairs have or will
be posting their workshop agendas to the GEM mailer in the near future.

Please note also that there is one joint GEM/CEDAR session devoted to
the ongoing discussion of a large geomagnetic storm which is of interest to
both groups.  This is the first time we will meet formally in a federated
manner with the CEDAR community;  our next federated meeting will be
between next summer's CEDAR and GEM full workshops.
